The first part of June we got to go to Bear Lake and meet up with the rest of the Anderson clan and spend a few days together. Marcia found a great cabin for us to enjoy up on the hillside above Bear Lake. We went up Thursday after school and over the next day or two everyone else met us up there.
The kids had a blast playing with their cousins. It seems we don't get to see each other as often as we'd like. I know Lindsey was counting down the days until she could be with Carissa. The kids had fun playing pool, writing stories, watching movies, playing video games, eating, eating, and eating! There was never a dull moment.
We went down to the beach a couple of times. The water was freezing but the beach was fun. The boys challenged the girls to a sand-castle building contest. The final judgment was that the girls castle was the prettiest and the boys was the most battle worthy.
Davin and Mary drove out from Georgia and we were excited to spend some time with them and their kids. Davin took one for the team when he let the kids throw all the leftover cupcakes at him. It was an experience they will not forget. Davin's sweet little daughter, Livy, was not concerned about the predicament of her father or the pain of thrown pastries, she just calmly kept bringing her dad napkins to help him clean up. It was so sweet to watch.
At the end of the trip, we went home tired, sunburned, full and happy.
