Lindsey was excited to find out that she made cheerleader for her Junior High. She has looked forward to trying out for cheerleader for a few years now. She has enjoyed cheering on her competition cheer squad and knew she wanted to try out at school. They had a week of clinics where they learned a dance and group cheer, she also had to create her own cheer. It was a stressful week for her but she did a great job keeping it all together.
The day of tryouts I met Lindsey at the school and helped her with her hair and make up then all the parents had to leave. The girls weren't allowed any contact with parents until tryouts were over. Lindsey called us at the soccer field where we were watching Savannah play and told us how her tryouts went. She was very excited that she had landed her back tuck and felt good that she had done her best. Before the soccer game was over Lindsey called back to tell us they had posted the cheerleaders and she had made it. We were all very excited for her!
When I got home, Lindsey wanted me to take her to find Luke so she could tell him. Luke was at a friends house with a group of his friends. When we pulled in, Lindsey ran to the backyard to find him. I got to experience one of those precious "mom moments" when Lindsey told Luke her news. Luke picked her up and gave her a big hug while Lindsey hugged him back. It was neat to see their excitement that they shared together.
