Pictures of the Girls

Savannah goes to Portland, Oregon

Savannah took a trip with her dad to one of our favorite areas, Portland/Hillsboro Oregon. These are some of the things she did in her own words. .

After we got off of the airplane, we rented a sports car. We went to my mom and dad's old house in Portland. The house was so totally messy.

Then we drove to Aunt Salli's house and then we went upstairs to go to bed.

The next day we went to the zoo. I liked the zoo. Sadie and I looked at the animals. Then we got some cheese from the cheese man. At the zoo we rode the train. The train took us to the rose gardens and we saw the place where dad gave mom her flower ring (this was a ring that James made for me while he was in dental school, he used the gold that he had pulled out of patient's fillings and designed a ring for me.) Then we got some more cheese. So that was the zoo.

Our next stop was going to be the air show but I didn't want to go there so we went back to Salli's and we watched some TV. Sadie came down to watch but she was sick so she had to bring a bowl. That night dad slept out on the porch on a hammock.

The next day Sadie was still asleep so I played a game with Megan and Megan's dad where I rescued Megan. After everyone woke up we went to Saturday's Market. There was lots of stuff there and lots of weird people, one of them had purple hair. I bought presents for my family there. I got a balloon from the balloon guy. Then we ate Chinese.

After Saturday Market we went to OMSI (a science museum).
At OMSI we looked at babies that start out small and get big, big, and big until it's time for them to get out of the tummy. We shot rockets off and we played in the balls. Then we went on a submarine ride. I had to yell, "Dive! Dive!" on the submarine.

Our last stop of the day was the Portland Temple. It was very pretty. I got to go inside and see the indoor garden.
I had to go by myself because my dad was wearing shorts. I walked in and asked the temple lady if I could see the trees and she took me to the garden. It was very beautiful. Then we went back to Sadie's. Then we went to bed and woke up early and flew back home to my home sweet home. I had fun at Sadie's house and I'm glad Aunt Salli and Megan's dad let us stay there and play with them.

Luke's Trip to Chicago

This year I went to Chicago with my dad. Our flight got delayed so we had a close call. When we got there it was very late at night so right when we got to our hotel we fell asleep. The next day we went to the Willis Tower, formerly known as the Sears Tower, it was very high up to the top floor. They recently installed a little glass cubicle that you can walk out on and look down through the floor. When we left the Willis Tower we went to the Field Museum which is kind of like a giant natural history museum. The place had the world's largest T-rex skeleton, it was pretty huge. We spent the rest of the day there and then went back to our hotel for a couple of hours. Later that evening, we went on a bike tour where we bot to see all the sights of Chicago. The next day we went to the Shedd Aquarium. We saw a lot of sharks and there was this cool glass tube that you could walk through and see all the sea creatures swimming around you. We also saw the Adler Planetarium where we saw a couple of shows about the universe we also saw some astronimical exhibits. The next day we went to church and just lounged around the rest of the day. The next and last day we spent the whole day at the Museum of Science and Industry, which was my favorite place. We got to see a smart home and a bunch of other things.
We also tried Chicago's famous stuffed pizza, it was really good! The shrimp wasn't so good so if you ever go there don't order it. The flight back was really tiring but I was ready to go home. THE END
